Data Collection and Usage

Local Processing and Storage

Doczy primarily processes files directly on your device. Images, PDFs, and scanned documents are stored locally and are not uploaded to our private servers.

AI Features Processing (Google Gemini API)

When you voluntarily choose to use our AI-powered features (such as "Chat with PDF", "AI OCR", or "MCQ Test"):

  • Selected text excerpts and questions are transmitted securely via encrypted connection to Google Generative AI (Gemini API) solely to generate the AI responses.
  • This data is processed in real time and is not used to build persistent profiles or sell personal data.

Permissions and Their Usage

Camera Permission (CAMERA)

  • Purpose: Capture images of physical documents for scanning and PDF creation.
  • Processing: On-device only.
  • Required: Optional (requested when scanning documents).

Storage / Media Permissions

  • Permissions Used:
    • READ_MEDIA_IMAGES (Android 13+)
    • READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below)
    • WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 10 and below)
  • Purpose: Access photos to convert them into PDF files and save exported PDFs to device storage.
  • Storage Location: Data remains on your local device.
  • Required: Optional (requested when selecting or saving files).

Internet and Network Access

  • Permissions: INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
  • Purpose: Required for displaying advertisements, fetching remote app configuration, processing AI requests, and sending crash reports.

Data We Collect Automatically

Doczy does not collect personal data directly on its own servers. However, the app integrates third-party SDKs that may automatically collect non-personal device information, including:

Opting Out of Personalized Ads

You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalized advertisements at any time through your Android device settings:
